No.1 seed Alcaraz sweeps aside veteran Jeremy Chardy at Wimbledon

Men’s tennis No. 1 seed Carlos Alcaraz on Tuesday swept aside veteran Jeremy Chardy at the Wimbledon Championships.

The Spaniard beat the Frenchman with 6-0, 6-2, and 7-5 straight sets in the Gentlemen’s First Round.

The 20-year-old is on track to become the third-youngest man in the Open era to win the Wimbledon title after tennis legends Boris Becker and Bjorn Borg.

In the Second Round, Alcaraz will take on the winner of the First Round duel between two Frenchmen, Alexandre Muller and Arthur Rinderknech.
