Death toll from floods after Kakhovka dam breach rises to 50

Death toll from floods caused by an explosion at the Kakhovka dam in Ukraine last month has risen to 50, Russian state-run TASS news agency reported on Wednesday.

“Two more bodies have been found. The death toll rose to 50, 137 people were hospitalized,” the news agency said, citing local emergency services.

Both Moscow and Kyiv have blamed each other for carrying out strikes on June 6, which led to the destruction of the walls of the dam, resulting in flooding of nearby areas.
