US Secretary of State Antony Blinken briefed representatives of the G-7 group of leading industrialized countries and the European Union regarding his recent discussions with Chinese officials in Beijing, the State Department said Wednesday.
“The Secretary briefed the group on his meetings with senior People’s Republic of China (PRC) officials in Beijing on June 18-19,” said spokesman Matthew Miller in a statement.
“The G-7 noted the importance of close coordination on the PRC and reaffirmed that the G-7 is more united than ever,” it said.
Blinken met his counterparts from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the EU on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London.
“They underscored their continued support for Ukraine in responding to Russia’s brutal war of aggression,” it added.
