Asian stocks close Monday in red

Major Asian stock markets closed Monday with losses amid renewed worries over monetary tightening cycles.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, ticked down 0.08% to 3,508 points as of 1100 GMT.

Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 decreased 0.25% to close at 32,698 points.


The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong exchange, lost 0.51% to 18,794 points.

China’s Shanghai Stock Exchange dove 1.48% to 3,150 points.

India’s Sensex index dropped 0.01% to close at 62,970 while the Singapore index fell 0.06% to end the day at 3,189 points.
