The US beat Türkiye 3-2 in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League on Sunday.
The US won the game with 25-22, 25-22, 22-25, 11-25 and1 5-9 sets to give the Crescent Stars a taste of their first defeat in the competition.
Andrea Drews led the United States to victory with 19 points in Antalya, on the Turkish Mediterranean, in the pool 1 week 1 game.
The good performances of two Türkiye players, Ebrar Karakurt and Melissa Teresa Vargas, who scored 26 and 25 points respectively, were in vain for victory.
The US placed third with 4 wins in 4 games, while Türkiye took up the number fourth spot with 3 wins in 4 games in the preliminary phase ranking.
Türkiye will take on the Netherlands in a pool 3 week 2 game on June 14.
