Drone crash in Russia’s Krasnodar region puts big oil reservoir on fire

A drone crashed on Wednesday in Russia’s southern Krasnodar region, setting on fire a 1,000-cubic-meter oil reservoir.

“The ignition of a tank with petroleum products on the territory of the Tamanneftegaz JSC (Joint Stock Company) enterprise occurred as a result of a drone crash,” Russia’s TASS news agency said, quoting emergency services.

The fire in the Volna settlement of the Temryuksky district of Krasnodar spread across an area of around 1,250 square meters (13,455 square feet).

It was ranked as “of the highest complexity,” with 190 people and five firefighting trains engaged in putting it out.

According to Veniamin Kondratyev, the governor of the Krasnodar region, the fire does not pose a threat to the settlement where it broke out.
