Turkish stocks up at Wednesday open

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 5,026.36 points, up by 0.15%, or 7.66 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Tuesday at 5,018.70 points, down 0.43%, with a daily trading volume of 48 billion Turkish liras ($2.48 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 19.3987 as of 9.55 a.m. local time (0655GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 21.2572, while a British pound traded for 24.1757 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $87.31 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,005.10.
